The Internet as you know it will change if Congress will pass the Protect IP Act (in the Senate) or the Stop Online Piracy Act (in the House). These bills directly effect your freedom of speech and innovation as a whole. Websites you use everday (Google, Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, YouTube.) can be shut down, even content you post on these sites could be in violation, and you could probably be sued for them (and tried as a FELON- the bill will make any streaming of unauthorized copyrighted content, a felony).
